Iphone 4s Bluetooth problems |
|
Hi all,
I'm very new to the discovery scene, so please bare with me...
I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone 4s ios 8.2 to the d4 system. The weird thing is I tought it would be straight forward, and went to my settings, Bluetooth, and the phone wouldn't find 'landrover'. Having tried a few times turning off and on Bluetooth I gave up. Then next time same thing, but as I was just about to give up again, it found it. I paired the iPhone and happy days. Tried making a call, and nothing...
And since then the phone won't find the 'landrover' again! Little bit annoying knowing that it's found it once but can't now find it!
So can anyone please help... What can I try? What configuration must the car be in, running, or just ignition on etc.. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do from the car side of things...or is there?
Tia

Some car details in your profile would help as the systems are different for year.
If you have a MY2012, then IOS 8 does seem to have caused a few problems. My main one was with playing music through iPhone. You could try resetting the phone (hold top and home buttons together) or restoring phone, different people have had different results.
Or it may of course be something totally different Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Thanks, it's a disco3 with the d4 system, really not too sure which one. I've recently bought the car off of robbo770. It's also got the connections in the glove box, usb etc, with a little switch on it. I can play my music through the aux apple (30 pin?) cable, but no joy on Bluetooth.
I'll try re-setting the phone and see what happens..

Update...
So I hard reset my phone, and turned it back on. Key in ignition and still the phone didn't find anything. Tried turning off and on Bluetooth.. So I then turned off Bluetooth on the phone and put the key in ignition, started the car, turned back on Bluetooth and hey presto! Found the phone! Connected up and could make a call to the house. Great!
Went inside... Back out to go some where, phone still had Bluetooth on....started the car...phone didn't connect and when I went and turned off Bluetooth and back on again, it had stored Land Rover in. Memory but it wouldn't connect!
More diagnosis required!.... D3 with lots of d4 extras!

So sitting outside the local shop whilst the wife popped in for supplies, I tryed connecting, (car running) and it wouldn't connect. So i tried the ignition off, back on, started the car, tried connecting and bingo! It connected, and the phone book was also recognised! Random, but it was mentioned in the iPhone 5 thread that I commented on, to try this. Seemed to work. I'm doubting that it'll recognise the phone next time I get in the car though! I have the D4 module in a D3, iPhone 4 connects instantly every time and shows on the radio as connected when the engine is switched on, I suspect the module is energised by unlocking and by the time I get into the seat the phone is connected. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
