Old coach road
Anyone driven this lately? I drive if about 18mths ago. It was quite washed out. We are going to the makes in late march and would like to drive it again. Trying to get a status on its condition. My trail wise account has expired so can't check there.
Also anyone driven the Fox at the back of the visitors centre in Grizedsle? We are about 10 mins from there.
CheersWith a few Mods.

The Fox should be driven west to east.
The OCR best driven east to west to save any damage this time of year.
Trailwise via google maps will give you basic information, but the full access is not always that up to date tbh. Check the LDNP website. Club N.E.R.D.s

As George says it's best to drive the OCR East to West so start at Matterdale End and go towards Threlkeld, most of the lane is in pretty good condition but it does hold a lot of water. The only bit to worry about is the downhill part on the way to the quarry, it is washed out quite badly but easily passable in a D3/4 although you may want somebody to spot for you as you come down Cheers Ian

Hi mate, drove it myself last month during the heavy rain period in the lakes. Was not to bad but would as others say have a second vehicle. Here's a link with a few pics and write up:

Thanks for the updates. I was thinking of driving it solo. I would have the mtb on the back if I did run into trouble so go for help. I may put up a post to see if anyone nearer the time fancies a trip across the OCR. It isn't the best idea driving it solo. Been lucky enough to drive it 3 times in the past. The last time was looking quite washed out hence wanting the low down on it now.
Anyone live local who would fancy it?? I am up there the weekend of the 20th march. Staying in Hawkshead village. Any other lanes around there worth doing? My Trailwise account has expired and the free service doesn't alway give up to date accounts of the status of the lanes. With a few Mods.

I'll be up there that weekend, but unfortunately will be hiking up Helvellyn.
Fair few lanes to choose from.
We are staying at the Old Vicarage, Naddle, looks a nice place
Bit of a lads weekend, bit of walking & fair bit of drinking.

Went over the OCR today. One thing I'd say is don't do it on your own. It was very washed out in places. Will post some photos and a video when I download them.
Cheers
