Suspension sensor calibration
Hi guys, hopefully an easy one to answer, I have by D4 in with a local independent LR garage they are fixing a few issues for me one being front left height sensor needing replacing.
The issue is however they only fit genuine LR parts and are telling me all 4 sensors are non LR parts currently (i have lift rods but made it clear this is not the sensor just the attaching rods but they insist the sensors are also non genuine i haven't had the car long so that may be the case) however had said fitting one genuine sensor will not calibrate with the non genuine ones.
Does this sound correct ? sounds a bit fishy to me. At the quoted £500 ish for 4 sensors, fitting and calibration I can get myself an IID, a sensor and sort it myself just don't want to run in to issues when picking up a sensor myself.

Must admit I’ve never heard that ref genuine / non genuine not talking with one another apart if there’s an actual fault
At that price I would be tempted to buy an IID as at least then it’s not dead money so to speak and indeed handy to have for the future , then fit them ur self
Am just looking around to see what the costs are between genuine and non genuine
Someone with more knowledge will be along to confirm that 100% for u
Ps, where abouts in Kent are u plse , plus think u can get an iid for around £420 ic vat

Thanks Gary
There is nominal price difference between genuine and non genuine, I would prefer genuine tbh, would just prefer not to change all 4 if i really don't have to.
I'm in Tonbridge, how about you?

Ur so welcome
I’m not that far away in swanley
Ah i see, apologises thought u needed x 4, indeed don’t see why u have to change all of them regardless if there genuine or non genuine unless someone can confirm that 100% for u
Maybe it’s just a wiring issues, know u can get repair connectors if there at fault
Shame my iid won’t work on urs otherwise u would have been more than welcome to come here and would have plugged it in for u
