Im getting in control for the disco - should be 2015MY
Its in control apps, the only one that seems avalible for the disco.
On LR's website it says 3 different things.
What I wanted was the MPG and phone replication capability:
Quote:LAND ROVER INCONTROLâ„¢ APPS
InControl Apps
Make life easier with the Smartphone App. Check fuel levels remotely, find your car in busy car parks and receive an SMS alert if you leave anything open. SOS Emergency Call and Optimised Land Rover Assistance use GPS technology to minimise delay in getting assistance to your exact location.

What it seems to offer is the phone replication capability
Quote:InControl APPS
Land Rover InControl Apps enables you to use a variety of smartphone apps on your vehicle's touch-screen by connecting your device to the InControl Apps USB port.
and
Quote:Land Rover InControlâ„¢ Apps enables you to use vehicle optimised smartphone apps on the vehicles touch-screen. Using the InControl Apps USB port you can enjoy a variety of vehicle optimised apps such as: Contacts, Calendar and Music Player, with more third party vehicle optimised apps being released over time. Your smartphone will also be re-charged whilst using InControl Apps.

with In control remote doing the other bit, but its not offered?
Quote:InControl REMOTE
Check your fuel levels remotely, find your vehicle in a busy car park and even check that you haven’t left a window open – all through a handy smartphone app.
What the website says is no 1 on the discovery!!
some people will have it, assuming there are no updates/upgrades - any feedback (I know the system is the most amazing thing yet)? Mike

You can get in control apps ( phone apps on your screen )
You can't get in control remote ( viewing fuel / location etc )
In control app software for the D4 is a £350 option G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks, Your right, but sorry maybe I wasn't clear.
The disco option is for in control apps (no remote or monitor or wifi)
But the disco option on the web says apps on the disco has the remote options, I'm beginning to think it's a website mistake...from what you say you to think it will only be apps Not a disco version of it with remote features
Shame, remote would be good. Mike

Definitely misleading website. The Incontrol apps is only available on the current D4. There is no "Remote" option until the new Disco next year unless you buy a Sport. The In Cintrol Apps is a massive waste of money and totally and utterly Save yourself £350 fella! My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

Yes i agree...to be honest i dont connect my phone by USB either so its another waste (it is waterproof so usb is protected it charges via a magnetic dock). The features I like seem mostly in remote and wifi
There still isn't any firm movement on a disco next year maybe...probably not, but I have a new one every year anyway so its no great shakes.
Its all ordered now and I think its locked in, so doubt I can change...you never know it might be good - ive kept everything on this one plus a few things, still cheaper so again no problem but annoying - remote would definitely be better.
Wouldn't get a new sport been there they are just to big for not a lot extra Mike

There are some photos of the Incontrol app on my D4 in this thread http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic117378.html As Steve says at the moment it is a bit of a waste of money and the website is definitely misleading
This is from the update a couple of weeks ago
Hairy Dan wrote:There are a couple of new apps available on the Land Rover Incontrol app from today
Audiobooks - which appears to be an app to read a book that you purchase out to you.
Newsbeat Tribune - Which isn't available in the UK
Rivet Radio - This appears to be another news reading app but with an American bias (Although you may be able to customise it, not sure yet)
Still a bit underwhelmed with Incontrol but at least they are adding some more apps (even if we can't use them in this country ) Hopefully some better ones are in the pipeline Cheers Ian

I agree with you on the RRS MSE
Having driven around in our Disco4, albeit a little older 2010, it's a lovely place to be and I'd definitely consider another one
