Removing the wood effect Facia kit
I've got a walnut trim on the vents and dash on my recently acquired D3, and I really don't like it.
I've had a little pull and the top vent parts come away very easily. The silver plastic underneath looks fine to me.
The rest is rather stuck on, does anyone know what they stick this stuff on with, and whether I can extract the kit intact? More importantly, whether what they've used damages the plastic underneath?
Had a little search but could not find...*now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

tonigmr2,
How did it go? I've just bought a used D3 with a nasty faux carbon fibre dash trim kit fitted, and I'd also like to remove it.
Thanks
Ian

Hi lundoz
Took my h trim out 2 weeks back.
No tools needed just a good grip!
Start at the bottom corner as soon as 1 clip loosens the rest will follow.
If your lucky all the clips will stay in place.
Took mine to a local body shop and got it painted piano black.
Really changes the look of my 05 se.
Well pleased with it. Best mod I've done.2005 manual se

Hey guys
Haven't got round to removing all the old trim yet, might do it later this week!
Comes off easy so far.
I'll be flogging it when it's off.

Well that was a mixed fortunes type operation.
It all came off fine. (See pic).

But I see why it was on now...drivers side air vent is butchered.

So now I need some other trim kit to cover it...or a new one!
Thinking of removing all the grey stuff and getting it painted, black sounds interesting.
Do people think red would be too much....

Don't think they cost that much to replace - listed at £18 inc on Britpart and TLO is usually less than them.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Im thinking of removing the plastic covers and painting it black but how do I remove it?
The left and right airvents are just plug ang play, but what about the center?
I got the 2006 mod so the center and the center vents are a onepiece....

I got the center of but the damn vents are being a dick! Any idea of how to get it of? Do I need to disconnect the wires for the lightswitch?
