2009-2010 Discovery 4 XS - Worth waiting till March?

hi and good evening.
Looking for my first foray into Discovery ownership within the next couple of months.
Current car, an Audi S3 Sportback is provisionally sold, so it's a change of direction in regards to driving dynamics. However, I had an urge to buy one a year ago when I bought the current car, but the 3.0 never really fell into my budget back then, but now looks like a reasonable time to scratch the Discovery itch.
I've been out in a friends HSE today and enjoyed the driving position and relaxed style and that has confirmed my desire to become an owner.

My question, after that long winded intro, is my budget is up to around £22k, which would seem to get me an 2009-2010 XS model from an independent dealer currently, with around 80k miles.
I'm in no massive rush to buy as I do have 2 other cars, so am wondering if it's best to hold off until March when prices might be even better due to improving weather and also registration change over dates seeing an influx in people moving older cars on?

Many thanks
Matt.

HSE spec seem to all be North of 100k miles at my budget.
I'm not overly worried about the miles, just the potential physiological barrier at resale.
Although I guess I need to think about the big belt service at around 105k

I travel around 9k per year, so 2 years on an 80k car will still be sub 100k at resale time.

Took the plunge back in September. 59 plate XS with 66,000. Paid just under £23,000. Still cannot wipe the great big grin off my face.

Was that a private sale or dealer?
Seems a great price with that mileage.

Typically it looks like my current daily driver is sold, and will be leaving me sooner than expected, which means I'll have to drive my MX5 until March if I don't want to pay inflated winter prices for the pleasure of owning a Discovery in the winter.

I'm sure the D4 is the way to go, but still keep browsing X5's on Autotrader too.

Was from a dealer. Although not a Land Rover dealer.

Matts3, That's not a bad price I paid £21k for my 59 plate D3 with 20K on the clock.

Little update, old car collected on Thursday.
Had agreed a deal to buy a D4 privatley, but then through my tenacious Google searching and reviewing eBay transactions for the same postcode area over the past 6 months, I was 99% certain the seller of the car wasn't actually the owner......but rather a trader operating as a private seller.
I pulled out, attempted to get my deposit back and have heard nothing since. (I never raised my concerns to the seller, as I was kind of hoping to get my small deposit back)
I had plenty of evidence to suggest he wasn't the owner but didn't want to get into a spat with him over it.

Suffice to say my 4 years spent selling cars back in the late 90's paid off.

However, all worked out for the best. I subsequently arranged a deal on a 2 owner, FSH with extended LR warranty in force until Nov car on Friday.
Picked it up yesterday and am very pleased with it.

First things on the list are to get the rear windows (sensibly) tinted and then to get some side steps fitted as my youngest son is struggling to get into it!

It also has a Prospeed roof rack fitted to it and a ladder. I'm not convinced I'm keeping those bits yet, but I think the tinted windows might pair with the black rack, so will wait till they're done before removing the rack and ladder.

Prospeed rack and ladder are now removed.
My thinking is that I'll never get any use out of them so might as well move them on and use the money for some side steps and getting the tints sorted.
