Tubes over steps

Anyone got these, any vantage over steps? Mine don't protrude very far so offer little carpark protection

Not exactly what I have, but these are my views
Pros....no cutting of cills, much less corrosion (so far, compared to my previous steps)don't stick out as far,so less chance of damage, look much better (personal view, having had both)
Cons....mine sit lower than steps (those don't look quite as low as mine) so clearance is compromised more, stick out less so poorer protection from muppets in car parks. Those don't have flat cut-outs so probably not as easy for kids and old folk to use compared to steps.
HTH Thumbs Up

Thanks, these are supposed to be Land Rover originals... from what you have said other than cosmetics there would be no advantage over my steps..

Cheers Very Happy

Something like these Whistle

I've got the Bearmach ones, really easy to fit, about an hour iirc and if you want them to stick out a bit they can, I kept mine in a bit for clearance
I never had steps so can't comment if they are any better.
These ones have a step bit built into them with a tread to save you from slipping.
If my 87 year old mother in law can use these to clamber aboard anyone can.

The box they come in is perfect for lying on to fit them

They are the VTD500010 part number and where fitted to the Disco 4 at new and then removed by the owner, looking at them it looks like they would reduce the clearance and as they are hollow wouldn't be much more protection than the steps I have now.
They were a good price and seemed a good option if they would protect more, looking at them though I'm not sure they actually would.
