Floods (We can not win)
There we are in the next road to a deep flood (0.6m) which had stranded many cars and flooded out quite a few houses. So I slowly drive through and offer my assistance in towing out any cars in order to minimise the damage. I'm met with one pis*ed off guy who starts having a go because I've caused the water to be pushed up into the flooded houses more! He said " I know you have your flash 4 x 4 but that detached there had escaped the flood and now you have made it worse" If looks could kill I'd be dead from the 20 or so people stood out looking. Before I could even mention my old man has a fantastic pump he uses for his business that would have pumped the water upto 100m away through a flexi pipe in 30mins and only lives around the corner he had walked off.
So should I turn around and bow wave it back at 20mph or carry on with my tail between my legs?
Guess what I did?
It seems everyone hates us
Seems they were happy to misuse the fire brigade to pump out the water and happy to see their large red lorry and a defender parked in the flood.
You live in an area that floods what do they expect?2006 TDV6 S Auto, Buckingham Blue, for the wife and kids.

We were at Dalby Forrest at the weekend, having fun in the rain, and trying out the Disco, then we came across this...
Had a ponder to whether we would make it through, after just coming back the way we came, although a few hours in between, and then went for it, and it was GREAT - what a car.
Was a bit unsure as could only see the tops of the bollards in the middle, so guessed it was a little bit deep there, but hey, it is a Land Rover
We had a nice Bow wave at the front, so not bad for my first go at water sports...
We then found the owners and happily reversed back in and towed them out...
Its a shame as they nearly made it, so I advised them to have a look at a proper 4x4
Anyway, they were very happy I stopped and helped, and then proceeded to buy us a pint at the pub - so there are people who appreciate us - although they were fellow 4x4 owners......
