We have stayed at Braithwaite Fold in Bowness, think its a CCC site now. We had a great time, this pitch size is a little on the small side but thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Yes stayed a good few times at Park Coppice.
Roads a bit narrow in vicinity [especially when towing].
Park is set in woodland, so if you don't like trees you're stuffed.
It's close by Coniston water, with a gate from the site through to lake.
Not a lot around in the way of shops, but Coniston has the usual grocers, pubs etc.
But plenty walking, biking can be done from there.
Yes, nice site and would recommend it.

If taking the caravan, I would recommend skelwith fold, just outside Ambleside
Lovely site very relaxing
Favourite family site is Holgates in silverdale, leisure club and facilities are one of the best around, it's about 20 mins to drive to Kendal, 30 to Windermere
Lived in Langdale for several years, so this is generally my favourite are for tenting....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!

Stayed at Fallbarrow with the caravan a few times. Nice site and just a two minute walk to the village of Bowness.

Recommend skelwithfold as well been there in the caravan a couple of years ago will definitely go back as it is handy for Ambleside, I think you can get the bus from outside the site if I remember allow you to go for a couple of beers and a meal.
Stayed at trout beck head caravan club site at Easter last year but is a bit out of the way had agaves room with pool table andtabletennis for the kids.

Stayed at the coppice, not a bad place at all. Just approach from the south and not the North and you'll be fine. Bodsys Brake Bible

depends what you're looking for from a campsite - Ravenglass C&CC is lovely, but a little isolated - Borrowdale CC site, i like a lot, that was until we got a 2.5m wide 'van - access is terrible - Keswick C&CC is a busy site but location and views are excellent. New Loo' block last year helped too!
