Lag midway through acceleration

Hi Guys, it's been a while since I posted on this forum and I could really use your experience. I test drove a D4 SDV6 8 spd (South African 2014 face-lift model) today and found that when accelerating under medium throttle there is a bit (about a quarter of a second) of a lag at about 2200 rpm after which the car starts really moving. It might be a delay before or as the second turbo kicks in, but I wish to know if this is normal and/or experienced by others. Any experiences from the guys who drive D4s?
Thanks!
Danie

Mine does something similar to this, almost like clutch slip. Been in to the dealer today with it. They wanted to book it in so there must be something wrong !!

I've not noticed that peculiarity with mine. It sometimes does hesitate at low speed before finally finding the correct gear and them moves like a rocket, depends how firm you are with the right pedal.

Thanks for your responses. I also did a lot of searches on this and other forums and got some info, but the posts all pertain to a lag when pulling away (not while already moving as per my query). Most similar issues were solved by updating the gearbox with the latest software and also resetting the learning mode (not sure what the correct technical term is) of the box. I advised the dealership of this, and it seemed to have done the trick for the mid-way lag that I felt as well. For interest, there were also some possible explanations raised that it could be due to the vehicle not having reached working temp yet, and it apparently protects itself by not letting full power through.

Regards,
Danie

just make sure your foot is not scuffing the brake as you accelerate..the brake switch very sensitive ,and if scuffed will tell the onboard computer you are stopping when you are trying to forward
try it in the carpark
