Hatchbag vs UKCC

Anybody got any back to back experience of the Hatchbag vs UK Custom Covers boot liner?

Not sure which one to go for. Also are the cargo anchor points still accessible when either of these are fitted?

First question, the Hatchbag is far superior, but more expensive. It is easy to clean, easy to remove. No rings round the head restraints, just velcro fasteners.

Second question, no, the cargo anchor points are not accessible from either but you can get to them by dropping the sides on the Hatchbag.

Word of warning...YOU MUST clean the silicone off the trim before applying the velcro tabs or they will come off after a while. Use Autoglym Tar Remover.

Forgot to say, the tailgate cover and flap cover are brilliant on the Hatchbag

I installed the Hatchbag from new.

we use a fully fitted D4 Bargo Cage and I put the full boot mat under it Just added protection as the cage is heavy and 3, sometime 4 flatties at 60-70lbs a piece is really heavy Very Happy

I think we have the tailgate flap as well but again, I also put another customer made carpet protector for the tailgate.

It was expensive in all but has fully protected our from the mud and dust the mutts kick up

I cant believe the dust our 3 make

But just a wipe down and its perfect again

Thanks guys, I'll go for the hatchbag with the rubber mat, although I might either ask for eyelets to be made for the cargo rings or get it done at the local sail makers

Our hatch bag is now three years old an nearly comes up like new when cleaned out and wiped down - this is despite tip runs, trans K9 taken in and out (I'd have expected the steel and rather sharp ends to have ripped the hatch bag as I slide it in by now but not at all!)

We have the one with the split to allow it to cover the rear seats when folded down. Also have the sides.

Instead of using the velcro use pop rivets - I'd did this on the suggestion of someone else and it works REALLY well.

What pop rivets are you using?

My Hatchbag is brilliant too with the TransK9 box and it slides into the car easily...bloody heavy box mind you!! Crying or Very sad

The only slight problem is the velcro tabs even after cleaning the trim, but it is not too much hassle in replacing them when the "sticky" wears off.

I bought a bag of 50, they come with a tool to snap the cap on to the cap.

The "stud" needs to be screwed in to the plastic with a small self tapping screw which you can buy from B&Q or anywhere.

Wiggs actually pointed me to this solution originally - great idea especially if you're keeping the car a few years.

I had a Hatchbag and there was too much velcro for me. Laughing

Currently have a Boot Buddy. Different concept as it's semi-rigid but for me much more practical.
