park break cable replacement |
|
Hi,
When replacing wheel bearing on the drivers side read, I damaged the park break cable - it was completely fused to a heavily corroded back plate and when I did finally rag it out it stripped the white plastic part that guides the cable through the back plate. I connected this damaged cable back up to handbrake shoes anyway, but at some point the park brake jammed (as I was kind of expecting) and I had to pull the emergency release.
Is it possible to replace just one parking brake cable (ie LH - drivers side), without removing the whole actuator module and the other two cables (RH and emergency release)? Do I really need to even remove the cover on the actuator for the LH side? The LH side is the one that screws in 5 turns right?
Thanks for help.
