Question:
I have a solar panel, can I simply connect this directly to the 2nd battery, or do I connect it to the solenoid?
- I have a control box for the panel, but it's fixed in the Sankey, will I need to get another one of these?
Cheers

Hi Iggy, I also have fitted a (150w)solar panel. I fed the cables into the controller via the tailgate and to the controller which I mounted on the rear panel, the output from the controller is then fed directly into one of the permanent supply sockets linked to the aux battery setup. This has been on for about 2xyears and keeps both batteries well topped up - I keep a cheap plug -in voltmeter permanently in one of the spare live sockets also to keep an eye on things. I have a couple of pics in my gallery of the setup.

To be honest having fiited a second batt sys to 3 cars, it became a bit of pain and went for a power pack with the Freelander as struggling to find space for 2nd batt (Could of fitted in spare wheel space, but then no spare wheel)
Mind you it is nice to have a little project and tinker
Looking through piccies seemed the cable from front to rear pictured was quiet thin, certainly looked a lot thinner than that provided with the Traxide sys.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Lespes - Iggy and myself only ran 17amp cable into the cab area for supply to the rear sockets (thats why it looks thin )
I have got cables to run externally along my chassis so that I can run a small winch on my trailer. But you are right the cable we put through are smaller than the ones provided the ones provided are all under the bonnet 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Well I wanted a neater fit for the Tmax display so thanks to Metal monster junk I got a second hand trim piece that goes on the right side of the steering column and today set about hacking it up
No first marked out the size I needed and then carefully cut the trim and dug all the foam out to the bar plastic.
I just have to do a little more tidying up around the edges but I am pretty happy so far I think I might even recess it a little more 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Thinking of doing the same in my D3 and was just wondering how your both getting on with this setup? Also what swayed you to the Tmax instead of Traxide or other make split charge systems?

Getting on great with the Tmax
To be honest the reason I went with the tmax was because I got no response from drivesafe about the traxide kit and it costs more in the over all scheme of things. I tmax is a very good set up and easy to link the two batteries with one button
Any more questions ask away 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Thanks for the reply
Did you need any specific tools for getting the kit fitted? Also was everything needed included in the kit? I read somewhere that a fuse is needed between the two batteries but isn't supplied.........or do I have my wires crossed?!! What fuse box did you use before connecting on to the 12v sockets? I'm maybe considering fitting a small ish inverter in the back as well as the 12v and usb sockets.
Any pics of the finished install to the two batteries would be great, if you have any!
