Help Please - Car in to the stealers tomorrow for an update.
My Disco is in tomorrow for the update for the tow pack - whatever this may be....
So I asked if whilst it is in, will they do the sat nav on the move up grade, to which I got the response back 'eh' 'don't know anything abot that mate....'
So, I have searched the posts made on the upgrade, but what do I need to tell them for the avoidence of all doubt - given these are muppets to get the upgrade...
Also, dumb question - but will this affect the TC upgrade on the ecu????
The upgrade is discussed in this thread. Apparently the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin?) number for this is: "LTB00044 Navigation System Upgrade - Destination On The Move", which should tell your dealer exactly what you are talking about.
I got a mailing from my stealer that this 'upgrade' is available now. They will not automatically install it, they will charge me 100 Euros (approx 65 GBP) for it if I combine it with a service visit, otherwise 150 Euros (100 GBP)
They claim it will take more than 3 hours to install , can this be really true? Is this a reasonable price, or am I being robbed here? It would be nice not having to '1791' it for each trip, but it is a lot of money for something so stupid...
So, expect to pay for it... 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

Thanks for that, I am now armed, and will quote to them...
the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin?) number for this is: "LTB00044 Navigation System Upgrade - Destination On The Move"
and see what sort of reaction I get, and will see about paying too

The 'book time' for the update is 3 hours - if all optional modules are present on the MOST
ACM - 0.2 hrs
AAM - 0.1 hrs
TEL - 0.9 hrs
TMC - 0.2 hrs
TVM - 0.2 hrs
REM - 0.1 hrs
HLDF - 1.3hrs (Includes CCF, HLDF & MMM required in all cases)
This update will not overwrite the ECU - provided the dealer does not take the opportunity to update any systems other than the nav. system during the IDS session
Glad that you mention that TFC, I was going to ask you that same question
So maybe I will let them do the SatNav TSB, even though it feels a bit like a rip-off... The 1791-ing when you suddenly want to change your route is just so annoying 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

With all those modules being updated is the TSB still only about 'SatNav on the move' or are there other benefits/fixes/improvements included? If so, do you know which ones? 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

All those modules (where fitted) are on the MOST and therefore need to be aware of the HDLF / MMM uplevel to communicate properly - in short, yes it's all the same update
Just be sure (in your case ) to tell the dealership that you don't want any updates to the engine control unit - there isn't any applicable to yours anyway but they may be 'helpful' and want to reload all modules
Mmm, I hope that such a request will not make them suspicious...
Anyway, is that DIY-tune-at-home box already available, just in case? 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

not yet....
most (UK) dealers are OK with remaps, if it might be a problem, just ask them to do the Nav. upgrade and nothing else 'cos you're pushed for time

Well, Stratstone strike again!!!
After the problems I had when they fitted the driving lamps - 2 days it took them! I reluctantly went back to them as they said I needed the tow bar upgrade.
Well, the Technician had one look at my car, scratched his head, and asked why I had come down, as I didn't have a fixed tow bar, but a detachable, therefore no upgrade required!
So, onto the sat nav upgrade - they had never heard of this - a first again, as they had never fitted driving lamps!
So, good job I printed off the instructions from the Forum, so off they went, 1 1/2 hours later, I enquired how it was going, as they told me only 40mins sir, well, still downloading, we reckon another 40mins to an hour!
So after spending nearly 2 hours in the garage, I have left my car with them, and will collect at 5pm to see what they have managed to do!
I have also specified it is to have a full valet too! Well its a massive car to clean yourself, and this is the third time they have valeted it, so I have only washed it once since March
Will keep you posted on what happens, and hopefully will all be free of charge

Well, just had a call from the Stealers.....
Apparently, all the downloads are done and completed, but it is asking for the new disc, and without this disc, it will not do sat nav on the move...
They are contacting LR tomorrow about this disc, as this is the first they have done, and to see if it is covered under warranty (bummer!)
Anyway, to those who have had this done, did you need the new disc, or does it work with the original my06 disc, and if so, how, as my local stealers would seem to need me to re-educate them again!!
PLEASE HELP.....

IIRC they only need to put the disc in once, let the new bootloader initialise(~20mins.) then put the old disc back - they could use one from a loan car to do this...
