LRE Dunkeld do self drive trips up in that sort of area. Not cheap but worth it. Other than with owners permission there is no green laning in Scotland at all.

Atholl estate covers a huge area of Perthshire,
It's very pricey for shooting so I don't imagine they let just anyone roam over their ground in 4x4s.
I would guess you can only do the safaris at certain times of the year, ie out of shooting season October to February. Also depending on stalking season.

The Atholl highlanders are the only private army as well.

Great part of the countryside to visit

Thumbs Up

I am lucky enough to be able to work closely with the Atholl Estate. The school I work with, have private use of a Bothy up there for their D of E trips. We get up there for a eek each summer.

As part of the long standing agreement, we get full access to the estate as well as wood foraging rights. We normally hire a 90 when we are up there but I have been pushing to take my D3.

I was lucky enough to have my Stag do up there as well as a winter walking trip between Christmas and new year. Its an amazing place. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Friend of mine son used to be a gamekeeper, or modern version, on the Atholl Estate and was the only person I knew who could "tickle" trout. Some skill. How do they do that?

The £200~£340 safaris are for private groups of up to 6 people.

The other safaris are £36 per adult.

All are for being driven by a 'ranger' in an estate Land Rover.

Pity someone that has a good relationship with the estate can't have a "word" and see if a one off event could be arranged for a weekend of walks, 4x4 and maybe a bit of whisky and clays (not at the same time though!)
