Non e' un bollino ma un papavero (poppy)

Oggi e' il remembrance day detto anche poppy day.

Viene celebrato l'11 di novembre (giorno della fine dei combattimenti per la prima guerra mondiale nel 1918) per ricordare tutti i caduti in guerra.
Le ostilita formalmente sono terminate all'undicesima ora dell'undicesimo giorno dell'undicesimo mese secondo l'armistizio siglato in Germania (ma la guerra finira definitivamente con il trattato di Versailles il 28 giugno 1919)

La regina tradizionalmente depone una corona di papaveri sul cenotafio a Whitehall

Quest'anno poi coincide con altri anniversari o date importanti
100 anni dall'inizio della Prima Guerra mondiale
70 anni dal D-Day
Fine della presenza militare dell'Inghilterra in Afghanistan (dopo il ritiro di tutte le truppe) It takes all sorts (to make a world).
