Excise Duty

We often complain about the £500 road tax - well I do but Ive just had an email from a Dutch pal and he has calculated the tax I would have to pay for the D3

North Holland £2265
South Holland £2535

Assume 2500Kg Kerb Weight and 275g/Km Diesel

No more complaints fellas!

just because they pay more doesnt mean ours is fair it just means they are ripped off more than us. i have a loan car at the moment its a new quashqi and its good on fuel high spec and zero tax but just has something missing pretty lifeless

The whole 'concept' of taxing vehicles to reduce CO2 is crazy! The tax we pay is a tax on ownership not use. For my money, I would rather pay an extra 10p per litre on the fuel as I only do a max of 10000 miles per year (would work out at £200 or so!). This way, those that 'pollute' more, pay more - simples!
I've just got my extortion demand through as it happens!

Tend to agree, but just buy a zero tax 2nd car and it balances out. Thumbs Up

In truth, unless the DS new engined car or D5 is better tax, mpg and servicing costs, then ....... Wink
