V12 Conversion - EGR Blanking

Now at least I have some attention but this needs to be said.

2 months or so ago in the midst of massive frustration with water in the sunroof drain valves stopping the central locking from working I also did the EGR Blanking conversion.

We have a 2005 HSE TD with circa 90,000 miles and the only engine mod it has is a K&N air filter.

So doing the EGR blanking was fine but the butterfly valve was a bit of hassle BUT since then its like the car has had an engine transplant.

Its now silky smooth like a Daimler V12 Double Six, pulls like train from all levels and full consumption is never less than 25 mpg whether in town or blasting at 100 mph down an Italian highway, which is a 10%-15% improvement.

Guys I am not kidding you, I also have 2 Ferraris and a Porsche with many modifications but this simple stuff you REALLY need to do with your Disco 3 & be very happy ...

Spot on. I've just done mine and it's more noticeable than I expected. Money and time well spent. Thumbs Up

If your valves are working fine, you will not notice a difference in running or performance

If you do notice an improvement, you had EGR issues Thumbs Up

Ok so did this again today with a Dutch mate from my local Waterski Club, his butterfly pin was a real b*t*ch we got really frustrated but the easy way to solve this is just completely remove the central Y intake section from the car and you'll find it much easier to remove without damaging anything
