Coolbox - Intermittent switching???
Just had my D3 coolbox transferred into the cubby of my D4 and all seemed good on the day of collection. Since then I was aware of a clicking sound which appeared when I slowed down and again when I pulled away. I checked the door bin and under the passenger seat but nothing. I then checked the cubby to find the fridge was off despite being switched on. I left the hinged lid open and to my dismay the fridge was switching itself on and off with what seems to be slowing and accelerating. There is only one connection as far as I'm aware and it seems strange that you could get this wrong??? Anyone else suffered such a strange occurrence?

Sounds like a voltage issue shutting the fridge down.
As I understand it the D3 fridge was connected to a perm live and relied on a voltage sensor to avoid flattening the battery. The D4 fridge does not have a voltage sensor and is connected to an ignition live.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Does the D4 have to have the coolbox enabled and if it wasn't, would/could that be a reason for a voltage issue?
I purchased the car from an Indy who deal entirely in LR and they have their own service Dept who seem quite sharp and with it. They have said they would take the D4 in and see if they could rectify it after next week as I'm towing my tintent to the Black Forest on Saturday morning. The coolbox worked fine in my D3 and just wanted to point the guys in the right direction if someone had experienced the same. Voltage issues will undoubtedly help their search for the problem.

I'm having issues with my cool box in the new 15MY
It was fine in my old 11MY
Now it's got a mind of it's own ....it's off more than on. !G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

As above, it should plug right in.
It could be a poor termination/high resistance causing a voltage drop and triggering the voltage protection system in the D3 fridge. The D4 system voltage can be a lot lower than the D3 due to the energy recovery / BMS system; as a result the voltage margin can be small. There could also be a problem with the fridge itself causing it to draw too much power; this in turn may trigger a voltage drop that is enough to trigger the protection circuit.
Anyway, time to get out the multimeter and see what is going on, but not all D3 fridges are happy in a D4 due to the system voltage differences.

I've not looked inside the D3 fridge electrics but it may be possible to bypass the voltage sensor that is simply not needed when installed in a D4.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Do we have any ideas what the voltage sensor looks like?

Willing to bet it's the D4 BMS system. When running it senses the battery voltage and it then decides that enough charging has happen and reduces available voltage. On a recent trip my battery monitor at one stage dropped right down to 12.2v. When the car is coasting in gear re-generative charging takes place and the voltage climbs up to +13v. As soon as you touch the accelerator pedal again charging stops and voltage drops.

Not of any help I'm afraid, but my main dealer did a bit of head shaking and a few sharp intake of breaths when I mentioned that they might take the fridge out of my 2010 D4 and put it in my 2014 D4. They said that it wasn't a straight swap. I had assumed that they just CBA'd, but maybe they were right.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Just a thought, I assume I could purchase a new fridge to fit my MY 2012 D4 and it would work.
