Scuttle replacement!
I'm having a new screen fitted this coming Friday & wondered if they remove the plastic scuttle in the process? Was going to change my faded one for a new en & thought if they do I'll ask the fitter to swap it for me, two jobs one stone! D3 HSE Zermatt Silver

It's a quick and relatively easy job, just needs the wiper arms removing and rear bonnet seal pulling back, since the screen fitter will need to remove the wipers anyway, I'd say it's a no-brainer
Edited to add; I've just had a look and the scuttle panel has to come off anyway to replace the screen as the scuttle fits over it.Clive

Buy the part locally ( it's about £40 ) and have it waiting when the fitter arrives.
There's no point surfing the net or contacting any of the forum sponsors for this item because it's so large, it has to be shipped as freight which kills any saving on price. Mods:

I did exactly this when my screen was last replaced. No issue to the fitter as it has to come off anyway. Mark.

That's a coincidence,..... My screen cracked on the way home from the Chepstow campinng event.
So my screen is being replaced by Auto glass on Wednesday so I've ordered two new A pillar covers and new scuttle panel from Stratstone's in Bury, will be availiable for collection at 8.30 am
Scuttle £45+vat
A pillar cover (including clips) £36+vat each
Hopefully the Autoglass technician is a decent chap and wants a good survey score.
Do open the box to check it before the fitter comes out though, as they are relatively delicate! The 'corner' on my new one was broken off when we opened the box so the fitter was unable to fit it when the screen was replaced.As you slide down the banister of life

When I got a new windscreen the fitter brought 2 pillar covers with him. They get replaced as well 2016 RR Sport Autobiography

So had the screen replaced today and to my delight the fitter turned up with two new A pillar covers.
Plus he fitted a new scuttle panel that I had collected yesterday from Stratstones for £45+vat.
So all ended well, just going to fit new wipers and then were all sorted in that area.

Got my scuttle panel ready for tom, screen is being fitted by auto national windscreens. When booking in I asked if it will be fitted like for like i.e Pilkington Optikool & the guy said they use aftermarket screens too. My response to that was, if the fitter turns up without a Pilkington screen he will be sent on his way! Apparently he noted my request. So let's see tom.
