The begining of the end was the requirement for a man with a red flag to preceed the mechanically propelled vehicle.

Presumably this is indeed the end of it on "cost" grounds....

If this were to happen I actually think the removal should be accompanied by an equivalent removal of burden for all rights of way. This is the usual ramblers getting one over on others. Once it's done with vehicular access it'll be bridleways next. Again on cost grounds.....

I'd be happy if the bridle way crossing our land went, sick of conversations about difference between bridle way & footpaths etc, also tired of cleaning up after horses that aren't mine just so the kids can ride their bikes, "inconsiderate, think the world works for them, arrogant, tossers" in general is how I find many riders, can't blame the beasts & some of them are lovely.

Apologies!

Apologies not needed. I can't help but wonder why horse owners can't clean up after themselves like 99.9% of dog owners do.
There is a little stable just down the road from where I work. They excercise their horses and ponies on the pavement past the factory every day, and every day there are several fresh steaming piles outside the entrance. Makes the road look a right mess.
We aren't a big company, but we have some very well known big brands as cutomers (P&G, Loreal, etc.) Creates a fantastic impression as you approach our new factory surrounded by horse droppings.
Mad

Always think it disgusting how police use horses in pedestrian precincts and leave steaming piles for the populace to walk through.

Only once it's rotted down.

You do have to wonder where those guys went who picked up after the horse trams....

But seriously, there is no need to cover a pavement in steaming piles everyday, but do we need to ban another thing? I'd prefer people looked at implementing and enforcing the existing rules before they start banning more things.
