Wear indicator off

Hi all, my front (I think, as the rear was recently done and sensor replaced) break wear indicator Disco 3 2004, has just started to come on. I'm ordering new pads but I want to stop the indicator (the noise). I tried to disable it by un-plugging the sensor (as I'm getting a new one) but it broke leaving two wires! So I taped them up and tied them away but the indicator is still on (not sure about the sound). Does anyone know how to stop the sound? Thanks

If the sensor is truly rubbing then you need to physically remove it from the brake caliper. Otherwise, the rubbing is metal on your brake pads making contact with the rotor. Happened to me, the brake sensor light went on and I only drove about 100 miles before I was metal on metal.

Twist the sensor wires together to complete the circuit. The wear indicator functions by maintaining a circuit which is ultimately broken as the wear sensor contacts the disk.

At least I think this is what you're asking? Thumbs Up
