The Tin tent needs new ones this year, any recommendations?
It's a Sterling 650 so a twin axle, 8m, heavy...ish - you'd not want to tow it with push bike... MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Thanks TT - will check those out as well.
As we're not really after super performance and grip I'm trying to work out what's best.
For me it's for them to be as puncture resistant as possible with good performance in the wet if heavy braking is required. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

As it's a twin axle you don't need tyres with a high load index.
Example - a 2000 kg twin axle caravan will need tyres capable of taking a load of 500kg each, although add 10% safety margin so 550kg each. A load index of 87 would be OK.

I always check with the tyre seller first, regarding tyre build dates (drives them mad) as I always change mine when they hit the 5 year mark, so if the tyre was 2 years old when you buy it, that means I would only get 3 years use from it. I have always managed to get tyres that are about 2-3 months old

I have recently put a new set on my twin axle Coachman, a heavy van.
On the advice of a couple of friends with twin axles vans, I went online to Kwik Fit.
I registered for a call back, and a short while later got a call. Explained what the tyres were for etc etc, got a recommendation and price which was good.
Best part? If you are having 4 tyres fitted then they will fit them on your van wherever it is located, at home, in stoarge or on a site and dont charge for the extra service. You can choose your appointment time, a meet the fitter at a time that suits you.
I was impressed with the service and convenience. Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.
