D4 EPB

Is it substantially different to the D3 one? Seem to be much less posts about D4 EPB issues than D3?

Anyway, occasionally I'm getting a loud beeping noise when I start the car and the red park brake light flashing once the engine has started, until I release the park brake. Only ever happens when the car is left overnight and has happened about five times in the last three weeks. Park brake always disengages fine, doesn't seem to be making any strange noises either.

No fault codes stored anywhere relating to the EPB. Any ideas what to look for or to check?

It's a D4 thing. If you put the brake on again when you get the warning, it will stop also. Occasionally I get it. It will do it a few times, then goes away for months. Not had any problems with the EPB generally though.

As above there is a thread on it somewhere mine does it especially if it's pointing down a slope
Just had the whole of mine replaced to many boat launchings don't agree with it Rolling Eyes

I have the same and as pointed out, it does appear more frequent when parked on a slope, even a gentle one. Dealer changed the EPB switch as a fault code was showing. Made no difference though. Might happen twice in a week, might not happen for months.

As the others have concurred, it seems to do it mostly on a bit of a slope, and with mine, it's often when it's damp/wet weather.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll just not worry about it then. I am still curious as to why it does it though.
