Hi,
Just wondering if there is anywhere a list of expected figures when reading live data from the ECU's. In my mind there is very little point in being able to read most of the data if you dont know what should be there.
Not just engine but suspension compressors reading and that kind of thing too.
If there isnt i would like to put together a easy to follow guide to follow for what to look for when reading live data.
Many thanks.
Pete.

I asked the same question over in this thread:
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic109018.html
It would be valuable to be able to get a more definitive view on what is considered an acceptable range of values when viewing live data.
I understand GAP have considered adding this to the IIDTool but nothing as yet.

I would suggest if your car is running good now make a list of the live readings and use them for reference if/when you encounter a problem, time consuming I know but may be useful in the future. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

That's a reasonable suggestion, but it would take an age to compile every live value - for every ECU/sensor - that the IIDTool is capable of displaying.
Some of them would not need compiling. For some (and I'm thinking of ventilation controls, for example), it would be sufficient to see a value change when a button is pressed/temperature dial rotated. That is enough to indicate that it is working as designed.
What I would really like to know is what should these values have been when my car left the factory? All things wear out and I'm sure my HPFP may not be as efficient as it was 7.5 years/111k miles ago when new.
Cylinder balancing offset seems to be a widely acknowledged value (~1000 when the engine is running well); how about some of the others?

Disco Mikey: Does the D4 have inyector readings as the D3? I don't find how to
I ask you because you have a lot of test equipment and maybe one of them allow for it.

Pleased to see we have some readings coming in now, exactly what i was looking for. Will start to compile a document with all the reading i have, would be good to get them all into one place.

Mine seems to be fluctuating between 26 and 27 KPa.
Would this still be considered normal, Mikey?
