Tintent insurance best price so far |
|
Hi,
our caravan insurance is coming up for renewal
been having a search around and looks like we will be sticking with the Caravan and Camping club again
no one is getting near their price and still looks a good cover/policy
worth trying them if yours is due soon.

I use AMTrust Europe and I've been very impressed. 2 claims so far and uber professional in their approach
There are cheaper but I had an insurance company owner read the policy and she backed them completely Mark
Remember its only an obsession....

Hi,
Yes tried a few, Flux, A plan, saga, caravan club, union contact, AA and there could be another one or two others
May be a few others I could try, but I am happy with their price and that's what matters so will be picking the phone up soon to pay them
Sometimes with insurance I seem to swop each renewal other times can not find anything better
Worth trying them Transit! 2019

It's not just about how cheap they are it's also how they perform when you have to claim, been with Caravanguard now for fifteen years, they always beet the CC quote and when I had to claim when the van disappeared one night I had a brand new van on the drive in ten days. It would have been in six days but I had work commitments.

I think claim handling definitely needs consideration too, going back a few years my parents were insured with Bakers (Towergate now I think) and their caravan was stolen from storage.
They had to wait a set period to see if it turned up, but on the last day Bakers called and said a new caravan would be ordered. Within three hours of that call the police phoned to say it had been found undamaged (well locks and Cris numbers).
Long story about the police thinking someone was in it and wanting my parents there ASAP to unlock it, even after pointing out if someone was living it their keys would no longer fit and they didn't and no one was in it, just their clothes, other stuff and an amazing fine bone China dinner set.
Anyway, it was too late to call the insurer, but when they were told the next day because they had already made the offer to replace it they stood by that and within a few weeks they had a new caravan.
So I would always try to go with service.

Hi,
Yes agree about service levels sadly you only really get to know what this is like when you have to make a claim
Had a claim from the floods of 2000 (different company) that seems a long time ago
Also looked at the cover provided to compare like with like,
just to give an idea saga upped some of their cover details to match it.
All make a point about security devices's always being fitted And stuff like that.

I managed to find about £16 off elsewhere but A Plan have a good reputation in the face of really needing to use them so I went with them.
Then put the Disco with them. MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

There is one lesson with insurance, it is a grudge payment at the time of purchase. BUT at the time of a claim we all want the very best sewrvice and cover. if you never claim cheap is good but then why bother. if you do claim you want fast efficient service.
not all insurance is the same, look very carefully at the policy, items to check, is it covered when in for a service, what cover is there when attached to a car a motorway service staation. The list is long. if it is cheap it vey likely has exclusions other do not put in.
Please be careful, i know of people who have been very disappointed when claiming.
happy caravanning. Rodey L
