Avatar help.
I've seen some really nice and amusing avatars on the forum which put my pathetic little one to shame.
So, time for a new one, and I'm thinking of an animated one. Has anyone any pointers or tips on how to make one? Dont get all technical on me please.Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

I've always found it hit or miss to get an animated *.gif to work.
Some sites tell you a maximum size and when I resize it it stops working
Search online for animated gifs - you might find summat you like Stew,

Why would you want to put an annoying moving distracting avatar next to your name ?
One of the great strengths of this site and Martins other sites is the 'cleanliness' of the posts and lack of crap. I know some people have massive pics in the sig and a description of every toy they have had since birth, fortunately these are few and far between
It would be horrid if the site turned out like other sites where it takes 10 minutes to find peoples post/comments in a thread. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I would personally prefer it if people didn't use animated GIFs, but they are not banned.
However, if you manage to get an enormous file linked in to the avatar somehow (it is technically possible) then I will remove it ASAP. In the past there have been animated avatars with a file size of tens of megabytes which is outrageous
