Standard Jack Tools
Just fitted my RLD wheel protector today (A great bit of kit) but looking at the pack that came with the jack I think I must be missing a bit, I used the screwdriver to turn the hook part to lower the wheel but I don't think I could use that for jacking up the car, is there a handle that I'm missing or is it stored some where else in the boot?

Hi Jez000
You should also have the wheel brace (well loosely described as):

Pleasure - you'd probably be better to pick up a Draper type extending one

You could have mine if I knew where it was. Took it out as soon as I saw it, have a 2 foot breaker bar with impact socket lays under 3rd row seats at the back (with the spare wheel winch bolt).

You will still need the original wheel brace to operate the scissor jack. It has a hexagonal hole in the handle to fit the end of the hook and extension piece that operate the jack. The large socket part of the wheel brace then forms a crank handle.

Had to change a wheel at the side of road yesterday. Original wheel brace had been replaced by a much sturdier item but only the titchy screwdriver available to operate the scissor jack. What a pain in the the backside that was!
Will be on the hunt for an original brace asap for the sole purpose of operating the jack.
Also, what a pain to drop the spare wheel. Now added a suitable socket and speeder bar.
You'd be better off getting a different jack.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC
