CB Antenna Cable Access

I have decided not to install a CB in the new D4, instead buy a 5W hand held and run a cable from the external antenna mount into the CB for extended coverage if needed.

Can anyone tell me the best place to run the cable through the firewall??

The antenna mount is on the (passenger) side of the vehicle.

Regards

Bob

Can you move it to the back? Then you can come in the vent holes behind the rear lights

There is a well discussed spare hole with grommet above the driver's feet on a manual D3. No idea if it moves to other side for LHD though.

I've run mine through the rear boot hatch for about 3 years now, tie wrapped to the rear grab handle and run unnder the seats and mats to the front.

Looks terrible, is functional, hasn't leaked! Thumbs Up

Look for the grommet near the brake booster, just below to the right. Poke a screw driver through and pull back the carpet and sound proofing in the drivers foot well.

I have done exactly the same for my vhf / uhf antennas, never leaked and don't notice them after a while.

Hey Bob,

XTC did a great write-up on routing aerial cables into a D4:

http://disco4.com/forum/topic40474.html

I've had mine routed like this for a few years and it has never leaked. It is very well hidden inside the car also.

Hope this helps! Thumbs Up
