Speed related droning sound |
|
Already have the dreaded shudder which is going to be looked at by D3 Transmissions over at Reading shortly. £75 for a check to see what has gone wrong but expect either T.C or both TC & clutch requiring work done.
Arrived back yesterday after driving up through France from the Alpes. Started hearing a speed related drone sound. Am I being overly pessimistic assuming that I need to look at a new Torque converters/gearbox as awell as a new wheel hub - or is hopefully the new sound an expected part of the known TC / Clutch problem? To me it sounds exactly to the previous wheel hub sound?
Having said that, arrived with no back ache, left Montalbert at 08.00 and arrived at Calais around 1800 - plus a lot of other folk. 139,000 on the clock, and hoping to keep it for the next 5 years as it owes me nothing now and is a damn sight more comfortable than my day to day ride. yes it costs a lot when it goes wrong, but after clambering around Montalbert off tracks, up mountains and on roads, Tonka is irreplaceable. I reckon that I will just get my wallet out
