| Steering Angle Calibration Procedure |

Hi
After the latest update within the nanocom firmware, we now have the ability to calibrate the steering angle sensor. Now there are no instructions that I can see, so knowing that some on here have carried this out already - could someone please help me understand the correct procedure for carrying out this calibration.
For example, engine off, engine on, key in stage II etc. Reason I ask, is that there is no graphical / numerical display to see what the current eensor value / reading is, so before I potentially screw things up, I thought I would try and find out.

Jay, I've done mine before but admittedly it was with an IID tool.
I cannot remember the key position but it must have been with dash lit up.
I think the only thing you really need to ensure is the front wheels are pointing dead ahead with the steering wheel centralised before doing the recalibration.

Thanks for coming back on this Narpy, it is appreciated!
What I can see with the latest update for the nano is that it has a single selection to chose 'calibrate steering angle sensor', but then nothing in terms of graphical / numerical display that I can find (maybe me being dumb  )
With that in my mind, it appears to me that it is all calibrated in the background, whereby there is nothing I can see to let me see the actual value before / after.
Therefore I can not as yet understand how I can see if the sensor is calibrated or not from what I can see on the nano, therefore I am trying to see if I am missing something here.
Also, from what I am reading, it appears that when working on ecu's etc, the engine needs to be off - but the ignition on position II - so does this rule apply to the SAS?
Reason I do not wish to make any mistakes, is that I have a traction control cut in issue on right hand bends every so often since wheel alignment, whereby I know they have not got the kit to calibrate the SAS, so I wish to rule this part out before looking elsewhere for the cause.

Jay, I've calibrated my SAS, with my MSV-2, and all I did was point the steering wheel in the ahead position and click calibrate. The ignition was on, but the engine was not running. The MSV-2 can read the SAS values, so I could see the before and after affects. Sorry I don't have any experience with the nano.

Just as Narpy says steering wheel set to central position ignition switch to on and make sure your battery is good, or even better put it on charge, then fire up the Nanocom and select SAS calibration, it take about 20 seconds to do it once done thats all you have to do.

Will go and do it now. One more question if I may - if this does not cure the traction control kicking in every so often on a right hand bend, where would I look next, as reading numerous posts it seems to come down to SAS a lot of the time?

It could be a few things , tyre, wheel bearing or even the wheel rim itself, or a faulty wheel speed sensor.

Tyres are all new, so I will swap them round to see if fault moves, the rims are free from damage so I would hope they are not the cause.
Wheel speed sensor, wheel bearings could be replaced when I change the brake disks and pads to remove those two possibilities, and the struts / airbags will be getting replaced also as the front is a bit nosey in corners, so I feel the dampers are coming to the end of their life.

I had the steering angle sensor come adrift, so resetting would be of no benefit in that situation.

I did think that Martin, so I have had it carried out 3 times now on a hunter machine (I put vehicle into TTM last time). Print outs show it is (or should be accurate) and the tyres appear to be wearing uniformally compared to previous ones on the car.

I have not checked the positioning of the sensor yet, as I do not know the location, but I assume it is somewhere on the upper steering column?
