Steering/Suspension Feels Loose

I've recently noticed that going over speedbumps, at low speed, the steering and suspension feels really loose, as if somethign is a bit disconnected, if that makes sense?!

Also, if I try to pull awya quickly, I get a clunking noise coming from the front ned. Not sure if it's all related!

Any ideas guys?

Add lower steering column to the above list. Also worth jacking it up, and checking for play in the wheel bearings Thumbs Up

Had the suspension checked over the other day at a local garage and they've said all the bushes and suspension parts look solid. When the owner took it for a test drive he said either steering coupling or steering rack as it feels pretty loose at high speeds also.

I got the following prices, maybe a bit of advice as to whether these are reasonable. Obviously won't know what one it is until they have a proper look.

£175+VAT for steering coupling
£395+VAT for steering rack

I'll be in Glasgow-shire on Friday if you fancy a 2nd opinion Thumbs Up

£175 + VAT is a lot of money for the lower column

Rack is not too expensive

Mikey, I'd be grateful for a second opinion, but I'm away early afternoon Friday. When do you think you'll be back in the area and we could tie up then?
