Merde!! Another D3 breakdown in France
So arrived at our stopover site near Abbeville and the disco was stinking of diesel.
Had a look and quickly diagnosed a y shaped connector near the back of the engine chucking out fuel!
Truck is now off to a local garage courtesy of the AA!
Anyone know what the piece is called? Guessing it's just a fuel line connector?
Here's a pic where it's supposed to fit.

Wiser folk than I will be able to answer your question, but an observation .... the jubilee clip in foreground is not OEM LR. Has a mod been done? Also, is the rubber pipe slid far-enough on - the lip is either a "stop" or there to aid the seal. Former would be ok, latter might suggest it too could come off.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
The three open pipes are also a bit of a worry too Mark.

Lol the three open pipes are where the connector used to be!
Don't think a mod has been done. Certainly not by me anyway! I guessed it wasn't oem due to the way the pipes were routed!
Its off to the local garage in abbeville for repairs at the moment. I just wondered if the connector had specific name so I could speed up obtaining the part!

I would suggest that the original plastic pipe with a plastic fitting (like the other one displayed in your photo) has broken at some time on the connector. As it only comes as a complete metal/plastic pipe from down the drivers side of the engine and is quite expensive, it looks like someone bodged it.

Well long story short the garage in abbeville replaced the connector with a plastic one which lasted about 300 miles before bursting under the pressure spraying diesel everywhere! The AA wouldn't come to us as we were towing the caravan which is over the 7m maximum allowed for their recovery!
Ended up searching on the tomtom for a local garage. There was one 3 miles away so limped there with smoke billowing out the top and diesel pouring out the bottom!
Guy in the garage spoke no english and mt french is appalling but between us managed to explain the problem. He had a look disappeared into his workshop and returned 20 mins later having made a connector by welding some pipe together. Fitted it and fixed the leak perfectly!
So if you're ever near a town called Vay in France and need your car looking at I recommend Top Garage!
I'm now waiting for a mate to send me a brass connector to get me home then I will sort out the pipework properly!2004 Disco 3 TDV6 SE
