| Trouble starting in the warm weather |
|
I am having trouble starting the disco in warm weather, I've noticed when its been sitting in the sun for a few hours its worse ,it will start eventually after I let it turn over quite a few times , then turn it off then it fires up first time.
Any ideas

you need to check your fuel pressure from in tank fuel pump could be on its way out

Thanks for your reply Geoff, how would I check fuel pressure, is this something I can do or does it need a pro like yourself to do it

to the left centre of the engine at the rear is a Schrader valve with a grey cap on it,undo cap and cycle ignition whilst depressing valve a little.you should see a good squirt of fuel coming out at about 10psi.Have a good few rags around area as to catch the fuel.a lid of a bic pen or something similar will be enough to depress the valve or something as small as you don't have a lot of room for anything longer.you get about 30 secs from turning the key and to depress the valve on your own.
a fuel filter will be the first thing to try changing and if the is not a lot of fuel pressure its a drop tank scenario and a pump replacement which can be chaged for £30 or so diy or a grand at landrover.
