Door guards

Hi All.

Anyone got any advice on the best option to protect the doors from errant shopping trolleys or those who park 6 inches away? I've seen some D3's with the 2 part door guards positioned mid-way up the flanks on front and rear doors, plus a couple of people with those simple door end clips, which don't protect you from the trolley or door opening brigade but are probably easier to install.

Grateful for any help / photographic suggestions.

another option are side steps or tree sliders - but bigger cost and a personal preference thing... i think they look great on the disco, particularly one set of tree sliders i've seen on this forum (can't remember who) - black tree sliders with (small but usable) step.

I got my better half convinced that tree sliders is the best way to avoid this kind of damage to your car. Looks good too, but won't prevent damage from taller vehicles or angled doors.

Yeah, I have to confess I'm not a fan of tree slides or side steps to be honest, personally I just don't like the look but I can appreciate their value when off-roading and getting in/out of the Disco. I think I'm going to opt for the thick plastic door guards that are screwed (?) onto the doors of the car but clip on/off the mounts. If anyone knows where to source them from I'd be keen to hear.

Tree sliders are the compromise for me:

I got them from a forum member, so not completely sure of the origin but they look identical to Britpart but may be from another company. They were powder-coated by Prospeed before sale to me and they did a very good job on the finish.

Mine are original Britpart, but the finish on yours are a bit beyond what they delivered! Very shiny.

I wholeheartedly agree that they do look very nice. However, my personal preference on the wider look of the car means I don't personally want to use tree sliders or side steps. Ideally, just some guards on the doors to protect the edges when squeezed into a car park. Might have to get busy with Google and that infamous auction site....

Rock Sliders

Mine are very similar to these and very robust, going to take mine off and have them blasted and coated again before winter as the original finish is coming off already...... Only two years old....

They are stuck on. You can get some from here, but out of stock atm.

Perfect. Thanks.

I was able to get the LR Part Number from that ad, which led me to a set on eBay.

My doors thank you.

Eirik, nice tree sliders, but it looks like a new set of tyres and tracking are in order.
