Warranty Direct Question..... excess x two ?
So after the service this morning it sounds like both front tie arms / track rod ends need replacing.
WD seem like they are happy to pay out which is good. However does anyone know whether they will charge me the excess twice ? I.e two lots of £50 for each side ?
It also sounds like the lower wishbones need doing too, looks like it will be an expensive day. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Hi,
I also use Warranty Direct and have (up to now), assumed it will be 1 x excess per claim which is something I will check on my policy when I get home. Just make sure all the work is done under one claim.New Fuel Cap

I worry they treat all different forms of work as seperate claims. I.E if a EGR fails and also a wheel bearing then they charge two lots of excess even if you claim for both at the same time. Though both arms and rods need doing I am concerned they will do the same here.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

No, it's 2 excesses. Two arms = two excesses. You could put in a claim for 10 items or 10 claims for one item, would be the same cost to you.

Thanks and what I thought. There's two hundred quid done straight away then, plus a 4 wheel aliignment. Taking me up to £270 plus have to pay for bolts and washers so there's another 50 odd. V annoying .....James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Looks like he is asking circa £900 with all genuine parts and 6 hours labour. I am sure WD will try and knock him down. Still waiting for the assessor to ok the work... heres hopingJames favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

I had similar done to mine, I am still glad I had the warranty, in fact the bill on one visit paid for 2yrs worth of cover, scary if you don't have cover, what could be looming next!

Hats off to WD. I have made circa 4 claims and all been put through over the last couple of years.
They are covering all parts (genuine Land rover ones) all nuts and bolts and also the 4 wheel alignment.
Only wanted to pay out for 4.5 hours (Indy reckoned it can take up to 6)
Because two lots of work, wishbones and tie rods I have two excesses of £50.00
I know there has been a lot of negative stuff written by WD, but I am very glad I took the cover out. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

I am pleased for sure though I am in a bit of a quandary.... what to do next.
The warranty runs out in 4 weeks and the next policy will no longer cover the suspension as it is too old (its a 55 plate) but it has only done 73k so isn't even run in in my eyes !
So trying to work out whether to continue with it or just bite the bullet once the bills come in ? Was going to dump it but as they are now in my good books not so sure.....James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
I've just renewed my 'lite' policy on my Dec 55 car at 145000 miles. It only covers me if I break down and am recovered to a garage (from home or on the road) but that's fine. I'm covered for up to £200 per hour labour and up to 160,000 miles, so I will get about 10 months cover before I hit that.
Last 2 years they've paid for a bearing (one each side) without any quibble. And they have a 'no betterment' clause on my policy so no wear and tear deductions, just £50 xs.
The main things I worry about are the engine / gearbox / catastrophic failure. The £1000 bills I worry about not the £100 or so bills.
All this for £135 per year inc tax etc.
Don't know what I will do once this expires as scared of the bills, but they have been good to me so far.TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)
