White smoke from tailpipes
Hi,
I have searched quite a bit, but not seemed to find the exact same symptoms.
I have an 09' D3 TDV6 which is smoking mainly when idling but (from what I can see) also a bit when driving. There is no loss of power it would seem, all pipework has been replaced, would injectors be the first place to start? Also had to replace a piston due to a valve seat dropping, not sure if that contributes anything?
Please could I ask for some advice?
Thanks a million in advance

Normally related to water in the fueling system.
Have you checked the oil for white deposits, could indicate main engine gasket failures?

When does it do it? If you start it in the morning and leave it idling then it can be condensation in the exhaust ...usually goes away after a mile or so.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Clearly your engine has had major surgery in the past so the white smoke could be a number of things.
Have you monitored the coolant level?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I haven't actually even looked at coolant, what would low coolant mean

Coolant could be leaking into the head via a blown gasket as already suggested. It can also leak via the EGR coolers directly into the exhaust.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

so, it turns out that 3 (all on thr one side) of my injectors are either at min or max trim limit p02A2 and also getting P121A fault codes. from what I can gather from other posts this suggests I replace the 3 injectors, as I have replaced 3 on the opposite side already?
