80/90 speed stickers for tintent, am I bovvered?

I'm taking my tintent abroad for the first time soon and wanted to comply with the law/wife.
I'm aware that a combo weighing over 3.5t is meant to wear 80/90 stickers to the NSR to comply with French law. I've also read that some see this as a rule for commercial vehicles only and not privately owned units like caravans. I don't much fancy stickers on my new tintent if not really necessary.
Anyone here have any views as some of you have said they don't bother with keeping to speed limits and generally drive at 65-70 mph when on the motorways anyway, the stickers then seem a little bit daft and only draw attention to the fact you're driving more quickly that you should. Do I need to bother fitting them?
Many thanks in anticipation.

I stand to be corrected, but to my knowledge there is no law in France which tells you to put 80/90 stickers on your caravan. On the autoroute, maximum speed when towing is 90 kph. I usually do 100-105 on CC.

Stickers are not required on foreign registered caravans BUT the law is the law as far as speed is concerned although I cruised at around 100 KPH the whole time we were in France without a problem and we were there for six and half weeks and covered a lot of miles.

Just use common sense and enjoy your trip! Thumbs Up

If one has to have stickers one does not want here is a tip. Get some wax polish and coat the area to be covered but do not buff off. Apply sticker and buff off around it. Sticker will later peel off easily and one can buff any residual wax.
