Welcome Steeve. Great choice of company car. Not sure on the lead time though. Will you be getting any 'toys' fitted to help you in your job? (winch, tyres, snorkel etc)

I'd probably suggest Gareth that as it is a company car it will probably be leased - in which case most lease agencies don't like for there assest to be modified - as the chances are the modification will mean less on resale and probably mean it's been used for what it was designed for.
The company that i work for is also in the mobile phone business as a service provider. We have a fleet (200'ish) of Ford Rangers that are bog standard - if there is a fault at a mast and we can't get to it by road, we have the services of a company that provides ATV's and also helicopters.
We used to run a fleet of Fronteras, then we swapped to Freelander commercials and now we're on Rangers, and each and every one of them if bog standard.
(In the early days of the Fronteras, we did change the tyres for M+S as the tyres that it came with were not upto the job of standard roads - nevermind any kind of serious mud.)
Steevie - good luck with the job, the D3 is a great bit of kit. As for lead times, it'll probably depend on whether you are replacing someone (in which case it'll be a short wait) or if it's a new position then it'll probably mean a longer lead time - unless the company that you work for/lease from has some lying around somewhere or been very proactive in there recruitment process.

Hi Steevi
I too am new to this site. I have been taking advantage of these guys, quietly reading all their posts & stealing all there knowledge of the D3.
It was because of this site and everybody’s great advice that I ordered a Disco 3 XS Commercial
Down side = I ordered it 2 weeks ago and I was told it would be August before I receive it.
Glad to see some more scots on here......welcome, hopefully the next scottish meet will have a few more members present

JMC runs a D3 Commercial, no doubt he can advise any stuff in that area.D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.
3.6 TDV8 Vogue
XC90 SE Lux
A8 Quattro TDi
D3 SE
My 'commercial' is actually an SE spec which was 'commercialised' by the supplying dealer. This is why I have had it for over a year before LR decided to get their act together with supplying the great unwashed with a D3 van.
Strangely enough...... mine also takes the occaisional visit to mast sites - It's just that mine does it with full heated leather, sat nav, cruise, xenons,..... etc. etc The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

May not be a D3 to begin with though.
You might have a hire car for a short period, but who knows.
Anyway - keep us upto date and im sure you can get some good pictures of your D3 in the wilds of Scotland, when you eventually get it.
And if you know of any good tracks - let me know, im there at the end of July/beginning of August for two weeks on holiday - so i might have to see what i can squeeze in....
