Discovery 3 – Overall Winner of What Car? Big Group Test
Key Points
• Discovery 3 wins What Car? Big Group Test in July Issue
• A significant positive result for Discovery 3 which came out ahead of the New X5
• Please make the most of the opportunity presented
We are delighted to announce that Discovery 3 has come out as the overall winner of a What
Car? Big Group Test in the July 2007 issue the magazine.
As you will be aware, What Car? Magazine is a significant opinion former in the automotive
market place, so this is a significant positive result and one that we should all feel very proud
of.
I would encourage you to get hold of a copy of the July issue of What Car? in order to
familiarise yourself with the test findings. It may also be a good idea to have copies of the
magazine available in your showroom waiting areas for prospects to read. The test result
may prove to be a positive influence for any undecided prospects, especially if they are
considering one of the other featured models.
The Discovery 2.7 TDV6 SE Auto was tested against the New BMW X5 3.0d SE 7-Seat,
the Mercedes-Benz ML320 CDI SE and the Audi Q7 3.0 V6 TDI SE. All of these models
are significant players in the large size 4x4 sector, and to come out ahead of the New BMW
X5 is particularly satisfying.
As well as winning the overall test with 5 stars for being "…classy, good to drive and coping
brilliantly with family life", the Discovery came out best in the "Space and Practicality" and
"Equipment" sections earning 5 stars in each.
Please make sure you refer to this test result at any given opportunity and feel confident
knowing that Discovery 3 is still regarded as the best family 4x4 available by one of the key
opinion formers in the market place.

Mr. Green
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

read it - very positive for the Disco is a lot of ways BUT they mentioned a few times that the Disco "has been around for a while". I mean it's not like it's ready for the knackers yard. Evil or Very Mad

Also if it was a fair test that should all have been 7 seaters and included cars like the XC90 and the GL320 intead of the ML320.

LR products always seem to have much longer lifetimes than normal cars....

S1/2/3 - 1948-1980's
RRC - 1970 to 1996
Defender 1980's to current day
Discovery 1/2 - 1989 to 2004

Only the P38A came and went in a (relatively) short period

Apologies to LR afficionados if I've made a dogs breakfast of that list Whistle

So there I was showing my D3 the What Car group test and I definately heard it go Pfff as if it held the opposition in complete contempt! As far as the comment regarding it being a bit long in the tooth is concerned, it's still years ahead of anything else for it's ability and sheer class.

Not bad, your learning. You forgot the '90' and the '110' which came between Series 3 and Defender if you want to be really pedantic Whistle
