Air Conditioning Service

My TDV6 is currently being serviced. The dealer says it requires an air conditioning service (i.e. recharging the system) is this common or just a dealer making more money.

Mine's been recharged 4 times in 2 years Shocked

Never paid for it and never will. The system had a leak and after 3 attempts to fix it they got it right (I think).

I would think that after 2 years the a/c should not need to be recharged and even after 3 years it should still be fine unless it has a leak of course.

So it should be covered in my opinion.

I'm with Chris.

Mine's now 86,000km old and the a/c works fine. Never been recharged (or if it has they've neither told me nor charged me). If they say it needs it then there must be a fault.
 Have a nice day!

General recommendations are that the AirCon is re-pressurised every 3 years. The local aircon specialised just down the road from me charge £50 to do a leak test and re-pressurise. How much are LR quoting ??

I think you will find that this isn't just regassing, it is sanitising the system to prevent bugs like leigonaires disease. I wouldn't pay for it myself

Price quoted by Lancaster Reading £88 (+VAT) they said it use to be £150

Specialist Vehicle Air Conditioning Company said a new car should be OK for 4 years then recharge every 2 to 3 years.

Lancaster say they have to ask as a main dealer
