Chiptuing Steinbauer

I am considering to add some power to the TDV6, someone is offering a second hand Steinbauer. Does anyone have experience with Steinbauer? They claim to add +28Kw and bring the torgue up to 528, quite impressive but true? Also since this is an external "box", does that prevent it from being overwritten at the next maintenance (assuming there will be a next "SW upgrade" again).
Thanks in advance for your help!

An external box is removable so not overwritten by any LR updates.... but a LR update could affect the boxes use if something is changed I guess. Unless is completely isolates the LR map and effectively bypasses it.

As for if its any good ?? No idea never heard of it Wink

Other cleverer people will be along shortly I would imagine...

Gotta ask yourself why is it being sold?
528 lb/ft of torque is pushing the limits for a TDV6 and doesn't correlate to the kW increase...
Torq-Tune gives a peak power increase of around 35kW with a torque increase of around 68 lb/ft
A power increase of 28kW and torque increase of 180 lb/ft doesn't seem 'correct' to me Confused

I am sorry for the confusion: power increase is 28kW and torque increase is going from 440 NM to 528 NM so not lb/ft.

Do you have any experience with the brand Steinbauer?

mmm they only seem to list TD5 and not TDV6 from a quick look at their web site... may have missed it though on their vehicle selector.

Are you sure the unit your looking at is for the D3 and not D2 ?

Ah, right.... 528Nm is quite 'mild', Torq- Tune peaks at around 545Nm 8) No experience of Steinbauer at all, sorry
