Suspension fault - Normal height only |
|
After sorting out blocked drain tubes from sunroof today I'm moving on to the next problem I'm having.
Since having rear brake pads changed a month or so ago I've been getting suspension fault warning normal height only, with amber symbol on dash. This has been happening more frequently lately and is coming on a couple of minutes after starting. The compressor seems to be working ok, so i hope its not that. I have read somewhere that this fault can come up when the car has been jacked up.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem, hoping it might be a simple fix.

I had exactly the same problem. Get the fault codes read. It will help confirm things. In my case it was "Pressure Increasing Too Slowly". Compressor worked just like yours, just not good enough.
I ended up changing the compressor. It could be the dryer has solidified and there is a kit for that, but I needed things definitely fixed. Couldn't waste too much time replacing things which I wasn't sure would fix it fully, so I just went for the safest bet. Dennis

Arranged to have fault codes read later today,so fingers crossed. I did notice earlier on 4x4 screen that front n/s marker was a little higher than others, perhaps it may be a sensor fault, will find out later.

Might be worth making a cup of tea and having a read through this.

I went through all that's detailed in the above thread, and am still going OK now I've made sure I cycle the suspension from top to bottom at least once a week.

Ok just taken car to local indie and they noticed as I pulled into workshop and turned engine off air escaping on n/s front, they examined it for leaks from air lines but said they seemed fine. There conclusion was that there was a problem with suspension air bag. Apparently this is more common on range rovers and not something they had come across on a d3.
Going to cost about £350 inc labour to sort out
Has anyone else had this problem?

If there is a leak from the bag itself, that corner of the car will drop when parked up.

Thats what they said, it didn't sound right to me, it sounded as if I had puncture.

Just a quick update on this. Had Geoff monitoring this problem for a few weeks and everything is indicating a knackered compressor is causing the fault, after heavy testing the warning light has gone from amber to red. Hopefully new one will be fitted in the next few days and I can move on to my next fault - parking sensors

This is one of the main advantages of owning a disco, it's a hobby, it's gets you out of the house and it challenges the brain, thus keeping you mentally fit. Bonus all round!

Hi,
What was your PDC fault and did you get it sorted? I have replaced a faulty rear sensor and the rear loom and am still getting the continuous tone. Driving me mad!
