Disco MkIV EGR Valve blanking

I've searched but cannot find any conclusive info, on whether the EGR's on a Disco mk4 3.0 TDV6 can be physically blanked or not? I am having my Disco remapped and the EGR's removed by Essex-Remaps.com who are near to me (and who I've heard nothing but good reviews about from people I know who have used them), But I just wanted to see if the EGR's also needed to be fitted with blanking paltes?

I was going to have the DPF removed as well, but they (Essex-Remaps) advised me of the legality issues concerning this so I may not opt for this after all..

Any help or info will as always be gratefully received Smile

The EGRs are used to help regulate the exhaust gas temperature for DPF regeneration.

I think you will find the reason they have advised you on the legal side is all remappers etc have been sent some for of paperwork from vosa along the lines of they may prosecute if they keep doing it, they may keep records so if you get it done you may want to arrange for a cash deal ie no paperwork either side!

Not heard of an EGR & DPF deleted D4 yet; probably the first on the forum.

Good luck.

Just an update, I've now had the EGR's removed from the ECU by Essex-Remaps(.com), This particular Disco 4 of mine is apparently non DPF anyway, so no need to delete that.. Smile

I thought that my Disco 4 and my RRS, both being the 3.0, would have had DPF's, Is it because the Disco 4 is TDV6 and the RRS is SDV6 maybe?

Anyway, the remap / ecu tune for better economy (also adds 30bhp) along with the EGR deletion is great to drive and I've got my RRS booked in for the same to be done..
