D4 Front parking sensors not working
Hi all,
So, I have just realised that my front parking sensors are not working. I have a 2010HSE, bought used, but I don't remember them ever working.
Is there a manual override somewhere? Do they have a separate fuse?

you need to get the faults read and cleared and then have each sensor tested with diagnios unit like a faultmate msv
you then will only need to replace the sensor that is causing the error, and at about 90 each from the stealers one is enough, or contact Lewis via my upgrade thread for one for £8 each!!FFRR SC 4.2

I give up. Nothing is coming up on the tool, so does this suggest that there is physical damage to the sensors? If so, how do I check and replace if required?D4 HSE all the way

Front sensors only operate if you first engage reverse gear, and go back into Drive. No idea why, though it does stop them from beeping when stopped in traffic and pedestrians cross in front if the car.

Unfortunately not any more on the 2014 - they now turn on everytime you stop and got to N..it gets a little tiresome
On the earlier versions you can push the dash button when in drive to turn them all on.Mike
Which tool do you use to code read? IID?Previously:

Strange.
I took the car to a garage and it's clear of any fault codes. Checking the wires, they all seem to be connected.
Do I need to replace the whole loom and sensors? Any other way of narrowing the search down to the root cause?D4 HSE all the way

I have a 2010 D4 which has the console switch to activate the front sensors if not having engaged reverse first.
If you press this switch in does it still illuminate, the switch to the right of the Hazards?2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey

Interesting.
I just tried it and no, I don't get the light to come on when I press it. The light does come on when I select reverse, but otherwise, no dice.
Any suggestions?D4 HSE all the way

Even when 'D' selected and with the rear end sensors out of range of something?
i.e. With mine, rear out of range of obstacles, from P into D then press the switch in an it lights up continuously, yours does not?2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey

No.
It's strange as when it stick it into reverse, the light does come and I can switch off if I want to. So, I am not really sure what is actually happening.D4 HSE all the way

There is a setting in the CCF, it can be set to Rear only, Both or None, might want to check it just in case...http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/
