Oil pump installation question

I've just installed my new oil pump casing. Question is, if the oil pump drive does not align with the crankshaft will the casing fit up against the block?

My casing went on without any issues, and torqued the bolts to 10nm and the casing was flush with the block.

It's just the job was to easy, so now I'm worried if the oil pump drive is aligned. Rolling Eyes

Thanks
John

The white plastic ring holds the pump drive in place while the casing is installed; as above, the casing doesn't fit flush unless the pump drive is properly aligned with the crankshaft.
