Not used them but did find that they were the same price for servicing and repairs as Lookers (main agent) only a few miles away in Stortford. Apart from supporting diversity of businesses, I can't see the point of using an independent if there's no price saving or convenience saving.

They're not an independent but a LR authorised service centre. When I ran around for prices for rear discs and pads they were cheaper than the LR dealers and cheaper than Lindacre in Ipswich (another LR service centre). RAC recovered my D4 to Taylors and they did a good job of repairing the fuel tank sensor wiring - prompt and courteous but not cheap. I can recommend Broadfields (Paul) an indie specialist in Little Canfield who is only a few miles from Dunmow.

Ah. That explains why they're the same price!

As an authorised LR service centre, there would be no problems with your warranty if you used Taylors and I think you'll find their labour rate is lower than retail dealers. Suggest you check with them.

if its got warranty you don't need to take it to main dealer to get it service if i remember correct and garage can do it as long as they are vat registered and carry out the service to the main dealer recommendation

If it were my car, I'd go with gje's decision - if he uses Taylors, LR have to accept that the work has been done to schedule & LR parts used because they are LR authorised. If he goes with an indie, he has to prove to LR that this has been done if they get difficult about a warranty claim.

I only used them once - for the major belt change - they were cheaper than the main dealer.

This might be coincidence but within a week, having a accelerated quickly at a roundabout, I got a low coolant warning.

Having called the AA, we found that a coolant hose had come off at the back of the engine and I'd dropped a good amount of coolant. The hose had been pushed on but clip hadn't been replaced, so the hose had just popped off with the pressure.
