GX470 vs Land Cruiser vs LR3

Anybody have experience with the GX470 or Land Cruiser? How would you compare the 3?

Tested a cruiser & thought it handled about as badly as the patrol (nissan) I was driving at the time.
Tested the D3. Truly awesome on and off the road. (& as Simon says "with style").
I went off road on the weekend with other D3ers from Melbourne area over at times very challenging terrain.
All of us did it with relative ease.
Go The D3. (but I'm biased Wink )
Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

2005 TDV6 S with Terrain Response (& all that entails), Tasmods (gorn). 2008 TDV6 HSE (gone). A Dark Side umbrella (here) & car (here).

I've driven the Toyota several times, it is a very capable car, good value for money, but makes hard work of what a D3 does with ease.

What do you want ?

A real authentic 4x4 that's won more awards than you can count or a pretend one that is designed for road use only ?

Drive them all and then decide ?

I hear Tata have a good range now.

This gives some idea of the difference btw the land cruiser and LR3/D3 offroad.

I think this may be disco4x4au's D3? - hope he doesn't mind my stealing this post from another site. Embarassed

Quote:

This weekend group of Land Rover owners went out on a 4wd trials in South West corner of WA, video from weekend taken showing the difference on same hill between D3 and a Toyota Cruiser 80 series.

This is taken from the AULOR Web site and posted here for your entertainment

Take a D3 and a 80 Ser Tojo up a big tricky hill. Both drivers are competent off-roaders, both vehicles got up the hill, both had aired down.

Enjoy, the difference between the 2 vehicles is HUGE.

The hill is MUCH steeper and trickier than it appears in the footage.
The toyota has brand new 33" MTRs fitted.

Enough said. Without a doubt the LR3 is the most capable. Hopefully i'll be a regular on this board soon. Thanks to all.

OOOOO watch yourself cowboy. I believe Simon was referring to me there Ryan. I do in fact appreciate very much that he considers me both 'young' and a 'lady'. Wink Thumbs Up
