Just booked a half-day at Eastnor with my complementary voucher from LR.
I then rang Eastnor to upgrade to a full day, and was quoted £250 for the upgrade!!! I was only expecting to pay £70 to £100 max as that is the difference in price between a half-day and a full day. I did explain that it was just for one person (the voucher allows three), but there was no negotiation on price.
At that price it would have been cheaper for me to book the second half-day independently as that only costs £225! But didn't as it seemed a rip-off and I'll probably be knackered after half a day anyway.
Is this punitive upgrade pricing a new thing or have others experienced it?

I had a fab time just on the taster, a good couple of hours where I was allowed to drive for 90% of the time. I was at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. Mark

We did a full day some time ago, cant remember how much to upgrade, but it was well worth it (but I don't think it was £200!) lunch etc was great and we went for a play on some unusual roots.
The half days are a bit boring and rubbish in my opinion Mike

The extra half a day at £250 is only £75 less than a full day at £325.
So if it's really great I'll go back for a full day at a later date. That way I get both.

Checked the prices with one of the LRE Centres today and they were:
Half Day Sole Use of a Land Rover £295 and Range Rover £345
Full Day Sole Use of a Land Rover £530 and Range Rover £575

You've obviously been asking at the wrong centres
Full day £325.00
Your Experience Includes:
Terrain covered: steep inclines; articulations; swamp wading; steep descents; tipping bridge
Lunch & refreshments
Total duration: approx. 7 hours
You may have to share a vehicle, but it would be max of two drivers, though usually you'll have sole use.
Quoted cost is per person

Quoted costs on mine were per vehicle which includes driver and up to 2 guests of your choice not some random stranger.
Price for shared use pretty much in line with what you quote but you run the risk of sharing the vehicle with someone you don't know.
