Running power to a rear battery

I am in the process of running power to a rear battery and power for the trailer tent through an anderson connector.

I am sure it has been done before but cant find any reference to suggestions for the best route for the cables.

And...do you need to run a +ve and -ve or can you use the chassis to earth the second battery and just run the +ve from the split charge (Traxide). Then both cables out to the trailer from the 2nd Batt.

I was planning to mount in the nearside rear wheel well but not sure how to get to and from it but guess someone else is

cheers
